Membership Benefits
The NTF depends on donations, sponsorship and contributions in order to carry out its work.
The membership fee is a contribution to the NTF to allow us to continue providing a range of resources aimed at people with tremor, their families and carers, and health professionals.
These include:
- A regular e newsletter
- Free access to support groups
- Free promotion to support groups via NTF website and NTF News
- Free promotional adverts, posters and banners via NTF website
- Access to professional advice from the NTF advisory panel

There are various ways that people can pay membership or donations to the National Tremor Foundation.

For those who have an internet on-line banking facility monies may be transferred direct to our account detailed below. Please Quote your full name in the reference field. If you could then send an email to tremorfoundation@aol.com advising of your remittance and giving your full address we can then confirm your remittance has been received.

GIFT AID – AN OVERVIEW
Gift aid is tax relief on money donated to UK charities.
HM Revenue & Customs treat donations as if the donor had already deducted basic rate tax from them. Therefore, the National Tremor Foundation can reclaim this tax to increase the value of a donation.
Gift aid rules
Donors must:
pay enough UK income tax and/or capital gains tax themselves to cover the amount of tax the charity will reclaim
give the charity a gift aid declaration, which should include
- their name
- their home address
- the charity’s name
- details of the donation – saying that it is a gift aid donation
- confirmation that they have paid UK tax – to cover the tax the charity will reclaim.
A declaration can be made to cover:
- individual donations
- a series of donations
- donations made during a specified period
- future donations.
They can also be backdated for up to 6 years prior to the date of the declaration provided the donation was made after 6 April 2000.

[size= 1em]Well we had a very good carboot sale (our first ever) in Bangor Co. Down to raise awareness of the NTF. A lot of people came up to ask about tremor and we gave out about 50 or so photocopied factsheets to them. Quite a number of people with Parkinson's also stopped to chat. [/size]
[size= 1em]The "sale" itself generated some funds - but people seemed to be looking for a bargain or something for very little, but all the goods had been donated for the cause - so we didn't mind. I was holding off sending a cheque because of the backlog of Xmas post caused by the severe weather. If you are collecting the Annual subscription soon (are you?) I will send the cheque then.[/size]

Hi David! Thank you for taking the time to raise money for the NTF and also for helping spread awareness of both tremor and the NTF. Renewal forms were sent out with the latest edition of NTF News. Although, some members have beaten the post and renewed online.

[size= 1.2em]Surely an existing member would expect to go to the "renew membership" page where they are asked to insert their membership number (except that it doesn't function properly) and not the "join now" page which quite logically doesn't ask for a membership number.[/size]
