Conference review 2009

This year, the 70 delegates who attended the NTF annual conference at the Village Hotel in Cardiff, had the opportunity to listen to four excellent presentations on various aspects of tremor. Research Fellows Leah Jones and Kathryn Peal spoke about Orthostatic Tremor and Dystonia and Tremor, and consultant neurologists Huw Morris and Tom Hughes focused on whether Essential Tremor is genetic and the difficulties facing general neurologists when diagnosing difficult tremors.

All contributed to an Expert Panel answering many questions posed by the delegates and supported by consultant neurologists Peter Bain and Leslie Findley, NTF Trustees. Copies of their presentations can be downloaded below.

The NTF annual general meeting, chaired by Leslie Findley, followed in the afternoon. It focused on the steady progress of the organisations expansion in 2009 with the culmination of the launching of the new website.

Minutes of the meeting can be found below and can be downloaded by visiting www.tremor.org.uk/agm-minutes.html

All agreed that the NTF’s plans for the future were exciting and positive, and that by working together – the members and the trustees – awareness about tremor and its impact on quality of life would be enhanced and more people would join as members and support the organisations ambitions for 2010 and beyond.
